HOW LONG DOES A RACE GO FOR?

Each race lasts around 9 minutes.

A race ends when the racer in first position completes a specific number of laps depending on the track in use and the type of kart the racer is in. For example, an adult race on the Combined Enduro Track will end once 8 laps have been completed by the racer in first. Alternatively, on the Indoor Sprint Track, an adult race ends after 16 laps have been completed by the racer in first.

Almost all races will go the full distance before the time elapses. The other racers won’t be slowed to enter the pits until at least half a lap after the first racer crosses the finish line. This means if the supplementary racers are only half a lap behind the leader, they will finish the full laps at full speed also.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF RACERS ON THE TRACK AT ANY ONE TIME?

There will be a maximum of 8 racers on the track at any one time for Classic Sprint Track races and 12 for Pro Sprint Track races. There will be a maximum of 16 racers on the track at any one time for Enduro Track races.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CLASSIC RACE AND A PRO RACE?

Classic races are intended for first time racers or those who like to take it a little easier. These races have the potential to be slowed for spin-outs slightly more than Pro Races and our faster shifter karts aren’t permitted in these races. You are still allowed to drive fast in these races.

Pro races are generally for adult karts, shifter karts, and those who are more confident to race faster. These races have the potential to be slowed less than Classic Races. You are still allowed to take it easier in these races if you wish. We just ask you to keep to the outside off the track, off the racing line where possible.

Karts have the same top speed in both Classic and Pro races.

Duo karts can go in either Classic or Pro races.

HOW LONG IS THE TRACK?

Hyperdrive has a single track that can be shortened to only include the indoor portion when the weather is poor.

On dry days, the Indoor Sprint Track connects via drawbridge to an outdoor track. The resulting Combined Enduro Track is over half a kilometer long.

On wet days, we close the outside portion of our track for safety reasons. The Indoor Sprint Track is 250 meters long.

WHAT FACILITIES DO YOU OFFER?

Hyperdrive has a cafe where you can buy great coffee and snacks, free arcade games, a viewing areas, and bathroom facilities.

Hyperdrive also has group rooms for functions and parties. All group rooms have controllable speakers, race screens for race details, and a live camera feed of the track. Most group rooms have a sink and fridge for your use. All room hire comes with access to function staff members to help with any of your party needs.

WHERE (AND WHAT) IS CKOMBAT KARTS?

KOMBAT KARTS, THE NEWEST ADDITION TO HYPERDRIVE KART RACING, IS HERE!

Inspired by the classic game that captured our hearts, Kombat Karts brings the action to life like never before.

Race against friends and family in an epic battle on wheels that will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

HOW DO I ACQUIRE A LICENSE FOR THE SUPER SHIFT KARTS?

To get a shifter license, you need to qualify with a “hot lap”. Once you have earnt your shifter license, you have it forever.

Get a sub 46 second lap time on the Combined enduro Track to earn your shifter license for that track only.

Get a sub 18.9 second lap time on the Indoor Sprint Track to ear your shifter license for that track only. If you get a sub 17.5 second lap time on the Indoor Sprint Track, you will automatically receive a license for the Combined Enduro Track as well.

WHICH KARTS CAN BE IN THE SAME RACE?

Adult Karts and Super Shifter Karts can be in the same race provided it is a standard race. Shifter Karts are not permitted in starter races.

Duo karts can go in both starter and standard race.

Junior Karts can only compete against other Junior Karts. If you have children younger than 13 years that you would really like to go out on track with, we offer a combined race. In a combined race, you hire the whole track and the adult karts are slowed to ensure everyone’s safety. Please email us at [email protected] or call 6229 1895 to find out more.
