HOW LONG DOES A RACE GO FOR?

A race goes for 18 laps maximum for Adult Kart races, and 16 laps maximum for Jr kart races, or 9 minutes maximum, whichever is sooner on the indoor Sprint Track, when it is wet outside. Alternatively, 8 laps maximum for adult kart races, and 6 laps maximum for Jr Kart races, or 9 minutes maximum, whichever is sooner on the combined Enduro Track, when it is dry outside.

Almost all races go the full distance before the time elapses. As soon as the first racer crosses the line the race is finished. Usually the group won’t be slowed to enter the pits until at least half a lap after the first racer crosses the finish line. This means if the supplementary racers are only half a lap behind the leader, they will finish the full laps at full speed also.

WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF RACERS ON THE TRACK AT ANY ONE TIME?

There will be a maximum of 8 racers on the track at any one time for Starter Sprint Track races and 12 for Standard Sprint Track races. There will be a maximum of 16 racers on the track at any one time for Enduro Track races.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A STARTER RACE AND A STANDARD RACE?

Starter races are generally for first time racers or those who like to take it a little easier. These races have the potential to be slowed for spin-outs slightly more than Standard Races and our faster shifter karts aren’t permitted in these races. You are still allowed to drive fast in these races.

Standard races are generally for adult karts, shifter karts, and those who are more confident to race faster. These races have the potential to be slowed slightly less than Starter Races. You are still allowed to take it easier in these races if you wish. We just ask you to keep to the outside off the track, off the racing line where possible.

Duo karts can go in either Starter or Standard races.

HOW DO I ACQUIRE A LICENSE FOR THE SUPER SHIFT KARTS?

All you need to do is set a sub 18.9 second laptime* in regular Adults Karts for the indoor Sprint Track, or a sub 46 second laptime for the combined Enduro Track. This laptime will be stored on the system and you will be able to book race places in the Super Shift Karts anytime afterwards. It costs $5 per race to upgrade from a regular adult kart to a Super Shifter Kart.
*Sub 18.9 is 18.899 seconds or less. You need a sub 17.5 second laptime on the indoor Sprint Track to race the Shifter Karts on the combined Enduro Track, and also must be above the age of 16 to race them on the combined track.

WHICH KARTS CAN AND CAN'T RACE AGAINST EACH OTHER?

Adult Karts are able to be in the same race as Super Shifter Karts and vise versa. Duo Karts can also go out with Adult and Super Shifter Karts, but Duo Karts are not to be raced, they are for fun use only.

Junior Karts can only compete against other Junior Karts, as it is too dangerous for them to race or ride with any other karts.*

*The only exception to this rule is if a Combined Race is booked where you book the whole track. The karts are slowed to a slower speed and extra rules are put in place to ensure everyone’s safety. Combined Races can be booked online or by contacting us.

WHAT ARE THE MINIMUM AGES AND HEIGHTS

Junior Karts = 7y.o+ and min 120cm (no exceptions)
Adult Karts = 13y.o+ and min 140cm (some exceptions may apply)
Super Shifter Karts = 13y.o+ (for indoor Sprint Track, and 16y.0+ for combined Enduro Track) and a license must be earned (no exceptions)
Duo Karts Driver* = 18y.o+ and min 140cm (no exceptions)
Duo Karts passenger = 4y.o+ (we highly recommend that a helmet is tried at least 30 minutes for your race time)
* Duo Karts can be heavy to steer and are for fun only, not for racing

CAN WE BRING AND CONSUME OUR OWN FOOD OR OTHER FOOD FROM OUTSIDE HYPERDRIVE?

No, unfortunately not. You can however hire a party room and bring your own food and drinks. Party rooms start from $70 for the first hour and $40 for every subsequent hour, or part there of. Discounts may be available if a lot of races are booked.
